Eddie Coronado

An introduction

I help people and organizations become more capable.

And occasionally make the process less painful.

Welcome. This is the part of the internet where I attempt to explain more than a decade of work, a few countries, several career pivots, three energetic boys, and an unreasonable number of ideas without asking you to download a 47-page deck.

I’ve built my career around one question: How do we help people do more of what they are capable of? Sometimes that means redesigning a talent system. Sometimes it means helping a leader see their team differently. Sometimes it means giving a person enough clarity to take the next brave step.

If you’re here to learn how I think, what I’ve built, or whether I might be the person you’re looking for, you’re in the right place. Have a look around. No name tag required.

A few chapters worth telling in full.

Case studies live at the intersection of what changed, how, and what I actually learned. Not a numbers dump. The full stories live inside The Journey.

Succession & readiness

Building a stronger leadership bench

  • Improved succession coverage from 84% to 92%
  • Increased execution by 12%
  • Introduced readiness profiles for C-suite succession decisions

What he learned. A succession slate is only as useful as the conversation it produces. Design the conversation first, and the data will follow.

Internal mobility

Making internal opportunity more visible

  • Increased engagement with the internal Gigs marketplace by 63%
  • Supported a 33% internal-fill rate
  • Built systems that made mobility easier to act on

What he learned. Opportunity doesn't move because a program exists. It moves when managers know how to talk about it, and when moving feels like the obvious next step rather than a favor.

Process & automation

Scaling work without scaling the workload

  • Re-engineered five talent-mobility processes
  • Reduced administrative workload by ~40%
  • Generated roughly $130,000 in savings

What he learned. Scale is not doing more work faster. It is building clearer systems so the work can move without depending on heroics.

Change enablement

Turning a major system change into a learning experience

  • Developed an enterprise learning strategy for Workday-based performance management
  • Built curriculum, train-the-trainer resources, facilitator tools, and office hours
  • Increased program engagement by 43%

What he learned. System launches succeed on the day people feel more capable than they did the week before — not on the day the vendor sends a launch email.

I have work with Eddie together as Regional Account Manager counterparts for Global Mobility at Siemens. We both assumed our new responsibilities at the same time when our roles were newly created.

Our team truly benefited from his people skills, entrepreneur approach, and multicultural sensitiveness. Work becomes that much more enjoyable when you can count on a team player such as Eddie.

I've had the pleasure of working with Eddie in both academic and professional settings and can attest to his hardworking, dedicated, and driven nature. As my manager, he has shown a high-level of professionalism and leadership abilities that he's applied to all aspects of his role at Uber.

He's a natural when it comes to building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, which makes him a valuable asset to our department. Eddie is not just a leader, but also a mentor who knows how to bring out the best in others.

Global Operations & Compliance at Uber

I had the luck to work with Eddie in many different projects within our Latin ERG at Uber. Eddie is fantastic at planning and coordinating teams.

Last year he conducted the best Hispanic Heritage Month programing at the history of Uber, with the best internal and external speakers and collaboration with multiple teams at Uber.

Eddie stands out for his strong communication, stakeholder management and project management. Also for his high human quality and just very easy to work with.

A working belief

“Talent management should not be a calendar of HR activities. It should be the operating system that helps an organization expand its capability.”

That belief shows up in every project I take on — the design of the system, the language leaders use, and the small daily rituals that quietly determine what an organization is capable of.

Beyond the résumé

The work matters, but it isn’t the whole person.

I’m also a husband, a father of three boys, a first-generation American, a lifelong relationship builder, and a man who has learned that leadership theories become much more practical when someone is negotiating bedtime with a two-year-old.
